DUPIXENT (dupilumab) is a prescription biologic injection used to treat chronic inflammatory conditions driven by type 2 immune responses, including eczema, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Atopic dermatitis (eczema): For adults and children 6 months and older with moderate-to-severe symptoms.
- Asthma: As an add-on maintenance treatment for patients 6 years and older.
- Other conditions: Includes chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, eosinophilic esophagitis, prurigo nodularis, and eosinophilic COPD.
- It is a monoclonal antibody that targets and blocks specific inflammatory proteins called interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13).
- It calms an overactive immune response rather than broadly suppressing your whole immune system.
- It is administered as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin) using a prefilled pen or syringe every one to four weeks, depending on the condition and age.
- Injection site reactions (pain, redness, or swelling)
- Eye problems (such as dry eyes, itching, or conjunctivitis)
- Cold sore flare-ups
- Joint aches or muscle pain.
- Which specific condition you are looking into
- If you need details on dosage or side effects
